RESOLUTION INDICATING THE BUILDING PERMIT
SYSTEM WHICH THE COMMUNITY HAS AUOPTED AND THE
REVIEW PROCEDURE FOR THAT SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has adopted and is enforcing
The Uniform Building Code and Zoning Ordinance No. '70-10, and
WHEREAS, Section 301. (a) , Uniform Building Code, 1970 Edition
of the aforesaid prohibits any person, firm, or corporation f rom
"`�"'� erecting, constructing, enlarging, altering, repairing, improving,
moving, or demolishing any building or structure without first ob-
taining a separate building permit for each building or structure
from the Building Official, and
�iHEREAS, the Building Official must examine all plans and
specifications for the proposed construction when application is
made to him for a building permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the CITY
OF GRA.PEVINE as follows:
1. That the Building Official shall require the issuance of a
permit for any excavation, grading, fill, or construction in the
community; and
2. That the Building Official shall require review of each
permit applieation to determine whether the proposed site and im-
provements will be reasonably safe from flood and�or mudslides.
If a proposed site and improvements are in a location that may have
flood and�or mudslide hazards, a further review must be made by
persons qualified in geology and soils engineering; and the proposed
new construction, substantial improvement, or grading must (i) be
adequately protected against flood and�or mudslide damage and (ii)
not aggravate the existing hazard.
3. That the Building Official shall require new or replace-
ment water supply systems and�or sanitary sewage systems to be
designed to minimize or eliminate infiltration of flood waters in-
to the systems and discharges from the systems into flood waters,
and require on-site waste disposal systems to be located so as to
avoid impairment of them or contamination from them during flooding.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Grapevine,
Texas, this 16th day of July ,A.D. 1974.
