COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 71�_7
WHEREAS, construction of the Grapevine Reservoir was authorized
by the River and Harbor Act of 1945, Public Law 14, 79th Congress,
lst Session; and
� WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine is authorized to administer project
land and water areas for recreational purposes, and operate, maintain
and replace facilities provided for such purposes and is empowered to
contract for such purposes, and is empowered to contract in these
respects; and
WHEREAS, the Government is authorized by Section 4 of the Flood
Control Act of 1944, Public Law 534, 78th Congress, 2nd Session,
to construct, maintain, and operate public park and recreation
facilities in reservoir areas under th�; control of the Department of
the A rmy, or tc� permit such construction and lea se such lands t:o
Federal, State or local governmental agencies;
Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXA S:
Section 1, The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
contrac� between the United States of America and the City of
Grapevine, Texas, for Recreation Development at the Grapevine
Reservoir, Texas, Contract No. DACW63-75-C-0011 which
contract states that each party hereto will pay or contribute in kind
��'�;"` fifty percent (50�) of the cost of developing recreational facilities
on the leased premises in accordance with the Plan of Recreation
�� Development and Management.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
Lease Agreement, . Number DACW63-1-75-0035, between the
Department of the Army, a division of the United States of America,
and the City of Grapevine, Texas, for public park and recreational
purposes , said lease for a period of fifty (50) years,
Section 3, That this resolution shall take effect from and after
its passage and it is accordingly so ordered.
