COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. '�y-;o
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas,
in the exercise of the discretionary powers vested by law in said
City Council, has determined that the public welfare, health,
• safety and convenience will be served by developing, aperating
� ` and maintaining a park and public recreation area located without
� the limits of said City on approximately 620 acres of land below
the dam at the Grapevine Reservoir Project: and

WHEREAS, such park and recreational area can be developed,
aperated and maintained on said land only if the City secures a

lease for such purpose from the U. S, Corps of Engineers,
pepartment of the Army: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas,
desires to authorize the Honorable W, D. Tate, Mayor, and
Floy T. Ezell, City Manager, to make application on behalf
' of the City for a Department of the Army lease for a 25-year
�period for public park and recreational purposes at Grapevine
Reservoir, pursuant to Section 4 of the Flood Control A�t of
1944 (76 Stat, 16 U. S.C.A. . Sec. 460d). NOW, T�HEREFORE,
, BE IT RESOLVED BY T'HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'IY OF
� GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
' SECTION 1. That the Honorable W. D. Tate, Mayor, and Floy T,
Ezell. City Manager of the City of Grapevine, Texas, be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to execute and submit the attached application for
a twenty-five (25) year Department of the Army lease for public park and
recreational puYposes on behalf of the City of Grapevine, Texas, to the
District Engineer, U. S. Army Engineer District, Fort Worth, P. O. Box
1600, Fort Worth, Texas, and to do such other and further acts, and to
execute such additional instruments as may be necessary and proper to carry
in force and effect the terms and provisions of such application and to enable
� the City or County to accept any lease granted as a result of said application and
to fulfill any requirements made by the proper authorities with reference thereto.
