WHEREAS , the Charter of the City of Gra.pevine, Texas ,
provides that on the next ensuing first Sa.turday in April,
there sha.11 be elected the following officia.ls for the said
City of Gra.pevine :

�� COUNCILMAN, Place No. 1
COUNCILMAN, Place No. 2
COUNCILMAN, Place No. 6
WHEREAS , said Charter further provides that the
election code of the Sta.te of Texas is applicable to sa,id
election, and in order to comply with said code, an order
should be pa.ssed esta.blishing the procedure to be followed
in said election, and designa.ting the voting place for said
election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1. Tha.t the Regular City Election for the
,� .,� City of Gra.pevine is hereby ca.11ed for April 5, 1975 , for the
following :
Office of the Mayor
Office of Councilma.n Place No. 1
Office of Councilman Place No. 2
Office of Councilman Place No. 6
Section 2. All eligible City of Gra.pevine voters
sha.11 cast their ba.11ots at the City of Grapevine Fire Sta.tion
located a.t the corner of Main a.nd Texa.s Street, Grapevine,
Texa.s . The polls shall be open between the hours of 7 :00 a..m.
and 7 :00 p.m. on said date.

Section 3. A.11 absentee ba.11oting sha.11 be conducted
pursuant to and in a.ccordance with the a.pplica.ble provisions of
the State of Texas Election Code.
Section 4. The Chief Election Judge sha.11 be �S,
Charles Goad Said Election Judcle shall ha.ve
the ability to hire three (3) number of deputies to a.ssist him
in holding the election.
Section 5. All candidates must file their applica.tion to
become candida.tes with the Mayor and City Secretary of said City
at the City Hall, Grapevine, Texa.s , on or before the 30 da.ys
from the date of said election. That all of the said a.pplications
shall be substa.ntially in the following form:
"To the Mayor of the City of Grapevine, Texas :
� _, "I hereby request tha.t my name be placed upon the
' officia.l ballot for the election to be held on the
, Sth of April, 1975 , as a candidate for
� , (name of office) of said City. I
hereby certify tha.t I am eligible to hold said
office under the Constitution of the State of Texas
and ha.ve resided in this Sta.te for a period of twelve
months and six months in the City of Grapevine and
have been an actua.l bonafide citizen o= the said
City for six months or more just proceding this
application."

That the City Secretary shall post in his office the names
of all ca.ndida.tes who have filed their a.pplications in accor-
dance with the terms and provisions of this order, a.nd said
� names shall be posted for a.t least ten (10) da.ys before said
City Secreta.ry orders the same to be printed on the ballot for
�_;�, said election.
� Section 6 . The City Secreta.ry is hereby a.uthorized a.nd
instructed to provide and furnish all necessary supplies and
personnel to conduct said election. Said supplies and personnel
shall be furnished at the expense of the General Fund of the
City of Grapevine, Texas .
Section 7 . The City Secretary is hereby instructed to
publish notice of the election once a week for two (2) con-
secutive weeks in a. newspaper published in the City of Grapevine,
the first of such publications to be not less than thirty-
eight (38) days before the election.
Section 8. This resolutoon shall repeal every prior
resolution in con.flict herewith, but only insofar as the
portion of such resolution shall be in conf lict and as to a.11
other sections of resolutions not in direct conflict herewith,
this resolution shall be and is hereby made cumulative.
Section 9. The Mayor shall issue all necessary orders ,
�,,,� writs and notices for said election and the returns of said
election shall be made to the City Council immediately after
the close of the polls and the completion of the counting of
the ballots .
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this the 17th day of
December , 1974.
