WHEREAS, the city of Grapevine has appointed a

Bicentennial Commission to formulate plans and submit
application to both state and nation Bicentennial Commis-
sions for designation as an Official Bicentennial City;

��---- WHEREAS, the appointed Grapevine Bicentennial Commis-
sion has completed preliminary plans for this community�s
observation of the national bicentennial;
WHEREAS, this same committee is prepared to .submit
its � application to the American Revolution Bicentennial
Commission of Texas and thence to the National Bicentennial
Commission;
WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council has been informed
of the preliminary plans for this community�s bicentennial
observation and has been informed of all activities as sub-
mitted in the application and;

WHEREAS, the City Council of Grapevine does both concur

and expresses its enthusiasm regarding those activities;
NOLV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS that the Grapevine Bicentennial
Commission be authorized to submit application to the
American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of Texas for
official approval of this cammunity�s bicentennial program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Grapevine offer its
support and assistance in the performance of those activities.
