AN ORDINANCE OF THE C1TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, APPROVING A CHANGE .
`�'' ORDER TO A CERTAIN CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT;
AUTHORtZiNG AND DIRECTlNG THE MAYOR TQ
� EXECUl'E SUCH CHANGE ORDER; DECLARING AN
� EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City has herefofore entered infio a cerfiain c�nstruction confiract
dated December 20, 1977, behveen fihe City and Cardinal Bui Iders, tnc., Lewisville,
Texas, in the amount of $297,544.00; and
WHEREAS, City Council has found and determined and by these presenfs does
hereby find and determine that a certain Change Order No. 2 attached hereto and
made a part hereof as Exhibit "A" should be approved wifh reference to the afore-
mentioned construction contract, and such approval should be evidenced on behalf
of the Ci ty by the Mayor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CiTY COUNCI C_ OF THE
CITY UF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
5ection 1 . 'f'hafi Change Order No. 2 attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
resulting in a nef increase in the construction confiract of $3,883.7Q is hereby
„ approved with reference fio that certain consfiruction contract referred to in the
preamble hereof.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby aufihorized and directed to evidence
" the Cifiy's approval of Change Order No. 2 by execution thereof on behalf of if�e
City.
Section 3o That the public importance of this measure ancf i-he fact that it i5
fio the best- interest of the City thaP such Change Order be execufied as herein cantem-�
plated constitutes an emergency and creates a necessity far the immediate preservatian
nf the pubtic peace� health and safety of the citizens of the City, which requires that
this ordinance be passed and take effect as an emergency measure, and if is accordingly
ordained that this ordinance be in full force and effect fram and after• its passage.

You are directed to make the following changes in this Contract:
1 . Repair damaged concrete grade beam. Replace/repair post tension cables for
splicing. Re-tension cables after pouring new concrete floor slab. --------- $ 850.00
2. Revise multiple tap waste�, piping system outside building so that one tap
only is made into the existing clay tile line. All discharges under grade
beam to be connected together with new P.V.C. waste line on south side of
building. ------------------------------------------------------------------ $ 661 .00
3. Add additional lengths and larger diameter galvanized conduit in ceiling
space of police area to accomodate larger size telephone cables ------------ $ 942.70
4. Add vertical steel reinforcing and cement grout to concrete block walls
around lock-up cells 182 and 183 for additional security requirements. •----- $1 ,430.00
