AN ORDINANCE AiX�PTING THE 1976 EDITION OF THE
UNIF'ORM FIRE CODE; PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT
THEREOF; PROVIDING ROR APPEAL..S OF ADMINISTRA-
TIVE DECISION; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ANY
PRIOR CONFLICTING ORDINANCE PROVISIONS; PRO-
VIDING A SEVERABILITY CI.AUSE; PROVIDING FOR
A PENALTY; AIVD DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
� SECTION l. There is hereby adopted by the City of
Grapevine, Texas, for the purpose of prescribing regulations,
governing conditions hazardous to health and to life, that
certain 1976 edition of the Uniform Fire Code and future
supplements; and it is hereby incorporated herein as if
fully set out in length herein and from the date on which
this ordinance shall take effect, the provisions thereof
shall be controlling within the limits of the City of
Grapevine, Texas.
SECTION 2. The enforcement of this Code shall be by
the City Manager of the City of Grapevine, or through any
person whom he may designate provided that such person is
employed by the City of Grapevine, Texas.
SECTION 3. This ordinance also repeals those pro-
visions, and only those provisions, ot all ordinances in
conflict with the provisions hereof.
SECTION 4. Provisions of this ordinance shall be, and
they are hereby, declared to be severable; and should any
portion of it be declared to be invalid for any reason by
a court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not
;� affect the remaining portions thereof.
SECTZON 5. A person, firm or corporation violating
the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be fined not less than
One Dollars($1.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars
($200.00) ; and each day each violation shall continue shall
be a separate offense.
SECTION 6. The fact that the enactment of this ordi-
nance is necessary to preserve the public business , peace
health, safety and general welfare, creates an urgency and
emergency in the immediate preservation of the same, and
requires that this ordinance shall take effect immediately
f rom and after its passage; and it is accordingly so ordained.
