CITY OF GRAPEVINE
ORDINANCE NO. 77- 19
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine passed Ordinance �74-40 regulating and
^�` governing the operation of taxi cabs in the City limits; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance (which has been codified in the City Code as

Chapter 4 sections 4-4-1 through 4-4-57) requires a franchise to be issued by the
City of Grapevine in order to legally operate a taxi cab in the City; and
WHEREAS, Hugh M. Waite d/b/a Metroplex Cab Co. has applied for a
franchise to operate a taxi cab service in the City limits; and
WHEREAS, the applicant has complied with all requirements of the charter
and Ordinance �`74-40 in its application; and
WHEREAS, all notices and requirements have been complied with; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the application was held pursuant to City
� Ordinances and the City Council found that the public convenience and necessity
call for the issuance of a taxi cab franchise and that Hugh M. Waite d/b/a Metroplex
�� ; Cab Co. is fit and qualified morally and financially to conduct the business of oper-
ating a taxi cab service and that a franchise should be issued to Hugh M. Waite
d/b/a Metroplex Cab Co.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CIN OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That a franchise to operate a taxi cab service in the City limits
of the City of Grapevine is hereby granted to Hugh M. Waite d/b/a Metroplex Cab
Co. for a period of one (1) year. The one year period shall run from the date this
Ordinance becomes effective pursuant to Article 10, section 10.02 of the City Charter.
Section 2. Rates to be charged by the franchise are as follows:

.20 For each additional 1/3 mile
2 .00 Minimum on any call
�_� Section 3. Hugh M. Waite d/b/a Metroplex Cab Company hereby acknowledges
by the acceptance of this franchise the necessity to comply with all terms of Ordinance
�74-40 and all other laws and ordinances of the City and the State of Texas and to
accept the franchise by signed acceptance of this ordinance in the appropriate place
and the franchise acceptance form that is attached hereto.

TAXI-CAB FRANCHISE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS
On the 17 day of May , 1977, a Taxi-Cab Franchise
pursuant to Chapter 4 of the Grapevine City Code was issued to Hugh M. Waite
d/b/a Metroplex Cab Co. for a period of one (1) year commencing on the
l� day of Sune , 1977, and ending on the l� day of

"I hereby accept the Taxi-Cab Franchise granted to me by Ordinance
�'74-40 and hereby agree to operate said Taxi-Cab service in accordance with
the terms of such Franchise and in accordance with the ordinance of the City
of Grapevine and the laws of the State of Texas.
