WHEREAS, the City of Southlake, a municipal corporation
situated in the County of Tarrant, State of Texas, did file
suit in the 17th Judicial District Court of Tarrant County,
Texas, against the City of Grapevine, a municipal corporation
situated in the County of Tarrant, State of Texas, alleging
that the City of Grapevine had unlawfully annexed certain
territories that are situated between the two City's bound-
aries, same being styled "City of Southlake vs. City of Grape-
vine,", Cause No. 17-8539-71 in the 17th Judicial District
Court of Tar-rant County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, both cities have made claims to areas that
could be in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the other
City or in the area of overlapping extraterritorial juris-
diction; and
WHEREAS, the respective City Councils believe that it
would be in the best interests of their Cities and citizens
to come to an agreement relative to said law suit and to
resolve their differences by entering an agreed judgment in
said law suit.
NOW, THEREFORE, ABOVE PREMISES CONSIDERED, the City of
Grapevine does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and
directed to sign an agreed judgment for the City of Grapevine
in the above described law suit whereby the City of Grapevine
shall have as its exclusive extraterritorial jurisdiction the
following area:
C13 That area of land in Tar-rant County, Texas, West
of the field notes contained in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a part hereof and also being South of
the North right-of-way line of State Highway 121 and
such area South and West of said point extending in a
Southwesterly direction from the said beginning point
described in Exhibit "A" above along the North right-
of-way line of State Highway 121 to a point one mile
Southwest in the North right-of-way line of State
Highway 121, which point is one mile Southwest beyond
the centerline of the intersection of Big Bear Creek
and the North right-of-way of State Highway 121; and
C2) All the area of land East of the boundary line
described by metes and bounds in the field notes attached
hereto as Exhibit "A".
That the City of Southlake shall have as its exclusive extra-
territorial jurisdiction the following areas:
Cl) That area of land in Tarrant County, Texas West
of the beginning point of the field notes contained
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part of
hereof and also being North of the North right-of-
way line of State Highway 121 and such area North
and West of said point extending in a Southwesterly
direction from the said beginning point described
in Exhibit "A" above along the North right-of-way
line of State Highway 121 to a point one mile South-
west in the North right-of-way line of State Highway
121, which point is one mile Southwest beyond the
center line of the intersection of Big Bear Creek
and the North right-of-way of State Highway 121; and
C23 All the area of land West of the boundary line
described by metes and bounds in the field notes
attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. That the Judgment entered shall be a final
judgment approved by the State of Texas on the suit in question
is a quo warranto suit.
SECTION 3. That the City Attorney is authorized to execute
all necessary papers to effectuate said final judgment.
