WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas
is desirous in making this Halloween October 30, 1971 a
safer and saner Halloween.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, THAT

Request parents to accompany younger children while

Encourage children to wear light colored clothes and/or
carry a flashlight.

Urge children to observe pedestrian safety rules.

Ask that porch lights be turned on at these homes where
children are welcome.
V.
Urge children not to eat treats until they get home and
parents can inspect them.
VI.
Urge people to only give sealed treats.
VII.
Ask neighborhoods to conduct block parties in their
neighborhood for the children.
VIII.
Urge all motorists to be particularly alert on Saturday
evening October 30th due to the large number of small children
on the streets after dark.
PASSED AND APPROVED, ON THIS 19th Day of October 17, 1971,
at the City Hall in Grapevine, Texas by a unanimous vote of
the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas.
