CODE AND PROVIDES FOR THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE ELECTRICAL
CODE TO PREVAIL IN THE EVENT OF A CONFLICT; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE: PROVIDING A PENALTY AND DECLARING AN
E MERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVI NE, TEXAS:
SECTION l. That the Grapevine City Code is hereby amended by
�
adding a new Section 3-2-8-7 to the Electrical Code which shall read as follows:
�
"$ecti on 3-2-8-7
A) The 1975 National Electrical Code is hereby adopted and
approved .
B) If any portion of the 1975 Electrical Code conflicts with
any other section or subsection of this electrical code, the City
Electrical Code shall prevail over the National Electrical Code
and be en forced."
SECTION 2. That the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed to be severable and that if the validity of any section, subsection or
� paragraph of this ordinance shall be declared invalid, the same shall not affect
� the validity of the balance of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to the same penalties
provided for in Chapter 2, Electrical Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas.
SECTION 4. The fact that the present electrical ordinance and regulations
of the City are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace
and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City creates an emergency for the
immediate preservation of the public business, property, health, safety and general
welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance shall become effective from

it is accordingly so ordained.
