AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, ABANDONING AND
VACATING A PORTION OF AN UNNAMED ALLEY
IN T�iE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
� WHEREAS, the owners of property abutting a certain
unnamed alley in the City of Grapevine, Texas , have requested
the right-of-way and/or easement as hereinafter described, by
� closed, abandoned and vacated; and
WHEREAS, the right-of-way and/or easement of said alley
as hereinafter described is not now needed for public use and
will not be needed in the future for a public use; and
WHEREAS, the closing, abandoning and vacating the
right-of-way and/or easement of said alley will relieve the
City of Grapevine, Texas, from the cost and expense of main-
taining said property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
SECTION l. That the right-of-way and/or easement more
particularly described as follows:
FIELD NOTES DESCRIBING A 12 FOOT WIDE ALLEY BETWEEN
BLOCKS 9 AND 12 IN THE STARR ADDITION, AN ADDITION

� RECORDED IN VOLUME 309, PAGE 71, PLAT RECORDS OF
'. �, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID ALLEY TO BE ABANDONED
BY THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE:
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING at a point 52.62 feet south 0 degrees, 12
minutes east from the northeast corner of the W. J.
Pirkle tract of land as recorded in Volume 2151, Page
227, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, said
place of beginning being south�,rest corner of Block 9
of said Starr Addition; '
THENCE north 89 degrees 52 minutes east 240 feet to
a point for a corner in the west line of Barton Street,
the same being the southeast corner of Block 9 of
said Starr Addition;
THENCE South 0 degrees 12 minutes east along the west
line of Barton Street 12 feet to a point for a
corner, the same being the northeast corner of Block
� 12 of said Starr Addition;
� THENCE south 89 degrees 52 minutes west 240 feet to a
point for a corner in the east line of said Pirkle
tract, the same being the northwest corner of Block
12 of said Starr Addition;
THENCE north 0 degrees 12 minutes west along the common
line between said Pirkle tract and west end of said
alley to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
be, and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and vacated for
public use, and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and vacated
insofar as all public right, title and interest in and to said
described portion of said right-of-way and/or easement is
concerned.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor be, and is hereby authorized
to execute a Quit-Claim Deed to convey the hereinafter
described property to Mel Hobratch, the reputed owner of the

property abutting said right-of-way and/or easement.
SECTION 3. That the terms and provisions of this
�" ordinance shall be deemed to be severable and that if the
validity of any section, subsection, word, sentence or phrase
shall be held to be invalid, it shall not affect the remaining
part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. The fact that said right-of-way and/or
easement is no longer needed by the public for public usage
or traveling and would create a hardship or burden upon the
City of Grapevine, Texas, to keep open and maintain such
alley, creates an urgency and an emergency for the immediate
preservation of the public health, safety and general welfare
which requires that this ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage and it is accordingly so ordained.
