HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1973-024 ORDINANCE NO, ��-24 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS AMENDED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, ON ���. ,: APRIL 7, 1970, THE SAME BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANGE OF THE CITY OF GRA�EVINE, TEXAS, BY ADDING THERETO CHAt'I'ER 20, PROVIDING FOR STREETS AND EASEMENTS; AND PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE GITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: g SECTION l. That Title 10 of the City Code of Grapevine, �" ' Texa s, a s a mended by the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texa s, on April 7, 1970, the same being the comprehensive zoning ordinance of the City of Grapevine, Texas, be and is hereby amended by adding thereto a Chapter 20, which shall read as follows: "Ghapter 20: Streets and Easements "A. As used in this Chapter� the following definitions will apply: "Major Street: A principal traffic artery, more or less continuous across the City, which is intended to connect remote parts of the City or area s adj acent thereto and to act as a principal connecting street � with State and Federal highways and shall include each street designated as a thoroughfare street on any master plan which may now be in effect or whic.h may be a.dopted at a later date, "Minor S�reet; A street which is intended primarily to serve traffic within a neighborhood or limited residential district, and which is not necessarily �ontinuous through several residential distri.cts. Secondary Street; A street collecting traffic from other �T � stree�s and serving as the mast direct route ta a major street, '�" "B. "G. Nothing in the above provision shall be interpreted as requiring the dedica�ion of property. "D. In arder to secure safety from fire, panic and other danger�, and to facilitate the adequate provisian of t�ransportation, water, sewerage, drainage, public utilities and prevent unsani�ary conditions, prior to the i�suance of a building permit, the City Manager shall determine whether �,;.,. or not the owner af land zoned herein must file a plat showing existing and proposed water Gaurses, drainage, drainage ditches, w�dths and dimensians of proposed street or streets, alleys, easements, drainage facilities, lot lines, building setback lines, topographical information with contours at an interval of one foot referred to City data with reference to bench marks where available, which contours shall fall wiChin one�third of a contour interval af theirktrue location although contour intervals of five feet may be allowed if the terrain is steeg enaugh to warran� these intervals as well as other informatiQn reasonably required by the City Manager to determine the safe�y - and effect of the proposed development and canstruction on the citizens af � _ the City of Grapevine. No building permit shall be i ssued until the City Manager ha s either apgroved said plat ar determined a plat i� nat required. " SEGTIQN 2. It is hereby deGlared to be the intention of the City Council af the Gity of Grapevine that the sections, paragraphs, sentenCes, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severa�le, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph ar section af this ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional, such un�onstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, ciauses� sentences, paragraphs ar sections of this ordinance, si.nce the same wot�ld have been enacted by the City Council without the incarporation ,�: , in this ordinance of any such uncanstitutional or inva].id phrase, clause� `# sentence� paragraph or seGtion.
