R64-2 Whereas, the laws of the State of Texas, and the Ordinance of the City of Grapevine, provide that on the next ensuing first Tuesday in April , there shall be elected the following officials for the said City of Grapevhe: ALDERMAN, Place No. 3 ALDERMAN, Place No. 4. ALDERMAN, Place No. 5 Whereas, the laws of the State of Texas further provides that the Election Code of the State of Texas is applicable to said Election, and in order to comply with said code, an order should be passed establishing the procedure to be followed in said election, and designating the voting place for said election. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: That all independent candidates at the election to be held on the first Tuesday in April , 1964, same being April 7, 1964, for the above named offices file their application to become candidates with the Mayor or City Secretary of said City at the City Hall , Grapevine , Texas, on or before the 30 days from the date of said election. That all of the said applications shall be substantially in the following form: To the Mayor of the City of Grapevine, Texas: I hereby request that my name be placed upon the official ballot forthe election to be held on the 7th day of April , 1964 , as a candidate for ( name of office) of said City. I hereby certify that I am elgible 'to hold said office under the Constitution of this State and have resided in this State for a period of twelve months and six months in the City of Grapevine and have been an actual bona fide citizen of the said City for six months or more just pre- ceding this application. Dated this, the day of , 1964. Signed (name of candidate) That the City Secretary shall, in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Election Code, post in his office the mames of all candidates who have been certified to him by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of any party holding a convention or primary election for said above mentioned offices, and the names of all independent candidates who have filed their applications in accordance with the terms and provisions of this order, and said names shall be posted for at least 10 days before said City Secretary orders the same to be printed on the ballot for said election. This City, having one election precinct, said election shall be held at the City 's Fire Station at the corner of Main and Texas tifts streets, Grapevine , Texas. Page 1 of two pages The City Secretary is hereby authorized and instructed to provide and furnish all necessary supplies and personnel to conduct said election. Said supplies and personnel shall be furnished at the expense of the General Fund of the City of Grapevine, Texas. The Mayor shall issue all necessary orders, writs, and notices for said election and the returns of said electbn shall be made to the City Council immediately after the close of the polls and the com- pletion of the counting of the ballots.
