FIRE PREVENTION WEEK, 1964 <br /> A PROCLAMATION <br /> BY <br /> THE MAYOR OF <br /> GRAPEVINE <br /> WHEREAS thousands of Americans lose their lives each year from <br /> fires that could be prevented; and <br /> WHEREAS great social and economic losses to our city result from <br /> the destruction of homes, business enterprises, industries and natural resources; <br /> THEREFORE, I Ira E. Woods , Mayor of <br /> Grapevine do hereby proclaim the week beginning October 4, 1964, <br /> as Fire Prevention Week. <br /> I call upon all departments and agencies of the city government to <br /> participate actively in a campaign for improved fire safety. The Fire Depart- <br /> ment and the schools of our city can provide effective leadership in the <br /> activities of Fire Prevention Week, and I urge them to work with the Fort <br /> Worth Chamber of Commerce and other organizations for a successful program. <br /> I earnestly request every citizen of the community to take pa rt in <br /> a coordinated effort to make our city a safer community in which to live and <br /> work. <br /> IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused <br /> the seal of City of Grapevine to be affixed. <br /> DONE in the City of Grapevine , Texas , this 22 day <br /> of September <br /> nineteen hundred and sixty-four. <br /> MAYOR \-. <br />
