RESOLUTION NO. R62-1 <br /> Whereas, the laws of the State of Texas, and the Ordinance of the <br /> City of Grapevine, provide that on the next ensuing first Tuesday <br /> in April, there shall be elected the following officials for the <br /> said City of Grapevine: <br /> ,"'" • ALDERMAN, Place No. 3 <br /> ALDERMAN, Place No. 4 <br /> ALDERMAN, Place No. 5 <br /> Whereas, the laws of the State of Texas further provides that the <br /> Election Code of the State of Texas is applicable to said Election, <br /> and inorder to comply with said code, an order should be passed <br /> establishing the procedure to be followed in said election, and <br /> designating the voting place for said election. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> GRAPEVINE, TEAAS: <br /> That all independent candidates at the election to be held on the <br /> first Tuesday in April , 1962, same being April 3, 1962, for the <br /> above named offices file their application to become candidates with <br /> the Mayor or City Secretary of said City Hall , Grapevine, Texas, on or <br /> before 30 days from the date of said election. <br /> That all of the said applications shall be substantially in the <br /> following form: <br /> To the Mayor of the City of Grapevine, T'xas: <br /> I hereby request that my name bw placed upon the official <br /> ballot for the election to be held on the 3rd day of April, <br /> 1962, as a cadidate for ( Name of Office) of said City. I <br /> hereby certify that I am eligible to hold said office under <br /> the Constitution of the State end have resided in this State <br /> for a period of twelve months and six months in the City of <br /> Grapevine and have been an actual bona fide citizen of the <br /> said City for six months or more just preceding this application. <br /> Dated this, the day of , 1961 . <br /> Signed (Name of Candidate) <br /> That the City Secretary shall, in accordance with the termsz and <br /> provisions of the Election Code, post in his office the names of <br /> all candidates who have been certified to him by the Chairman of <br /> the Executive Committee of any party holding a convention or <br /> primary election for said above mentioned offices, and the names <br /> of all independent candidates who have filed their applications <br /> in accordance with the terms and provisions of this order, and said <br /> names shall be posted for at least 10 days before said City <br /> Secretary orders the same to bit printed on the ballot for said <br /> election. <br /> This City, having one election precinct, said election shall be <br /> held at the City Hall Building, Grapevine, Texas. <br /> The City Secretary is hereby authorized and instructed to pro— <br /> vide and furnish all necessary supplies and personnel to conduct <br /> said election. Said supplies and personnel shall be furnished <br /> at the expense of the General Fund of the City of Grapevine, Texas. <br /> ( Page one of two pages) <br />
