ORDINANCE NO. 71-22A
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 3,
SECTION 1, OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF
GRAPFVINE, TEXAS 50 AS TO ADOPT A COMPRE-
HENSIVE FIRE PREVENTION CODE TO BE KNOWN
AS THE AIRPORT FIRE PREVENTION CODE, PRE-
SCRIBING REGtJLATIONS GOVERNING CONDITIONS
HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM FIRE
OR EXPLOSION WITHIN THF BOUNDARIES (�F THE
DALLAS-FORT WORTH RFGIONAL AIRPORT;
PROVSDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Fire Prevention Code for the City of Grapevine
is recommended by the American Insurance Association; being
particularly the 1965 Edition thereof; and
WHEREAS, the construction and utilization of the Dallas-
Fort Worth Regional Airport creates special requirements for
that portion of the city;
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Airport Committee
has recommended that the City of Grapevine, Texas adopt a Uniform
Fire Prevention Code for the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport;
Now Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE:
Section 1
THAT Title 5, Chapter 3, Sectionl of the City Code of the
City of Grapevine, Texas is hereby ammended to adopt a seperate
section to be known as the Airport Fire Prevention Code, for the
purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions
hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion within the
boundaries of the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport. A copy of
said code caritten on 243 pages has been filed with the office of
the clerk, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as
fully as if set out at length herein and the provisions thereof
shall be controlling within the limits of the Dallas-Fort Worth
Regional Airport.
Section 2
If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phase or
provision of this ordinance shall be invalid or unconstitutional,
the same shall not af�ect the validity of this ordinance as a
whole or any part of the provisions thereof though the parts
so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 3
The fact that the construction of the Dallas-Fort Worth
Regional Airport is under way and the fact that the airport
creates special hazards affecting the general welfare of the
citizens of the City of Grapevine, creates an urgency and an
emergency in the preservation of the comfort and general
welfare and a public necessity that the rule requiring this
ordinance to be read on t�ao several occasions be and the
same is hereby waived and this ordinance shall now be placed
on second and final reading of its passage, and shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
and the date of publication.
