SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF ON -SITE PPE CLEANING,
INSPECTION AND REPAIR FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of on -site personal
protective equipment cleaning, inspection and repair from Rocky Mountain
PPE, LLC for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fire Department) for a total
amount not to exceed $18,060.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the yearly advanced cleaning and repair of
firefighter's protective gear as outlined in the National Fire Protection
Association 1851, Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of
Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting. This service provides
on -site services that allow for a reduced turnaround time and lessens the
chance for equipment loss.
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A).
