AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS GRANTING TO INDEPENDENT
CAB COMPANY, A FRANCHISE TO OPERATE A
TAXICAB SERVICE IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE AND
PERMITTING SAID COMPANY TO OPE�2P,TE UP TO

YEAR FRANCHISE TERM; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE

WHEREAS, the written application was properly filed by
Independent Cab Company with the City of Grapevine (the "City")
for a franchise to operate a taxicab service in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police submitted a written report and
favorable recommendation concerning the qualifications and
financial ability of the applicant and concerning the public
necessity and convenience for the proposed taxicab service; and
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of August, 1990 , a public hearing
was held to consider whether the franchise should be granted; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds the proposed taxicab
service is required by the public convenience and necessity and
that the applicant is fit, willing, and able to operate the
taxicab service in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 22
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grapevine and the
applicable rules and regulations of the City.
° NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE:

Section 1 . That all of the above premises are found to be
true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this
ordinance as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2 . There is hereby granted to Independent Cab
Company, herein called Grantee, a certificate of convenience and
necessity and the right and franchise to operate a taxicab
service or business in the City of Grapevine, Texas and to
operate such service or business on the streets, alleys, and
public ways in the City of Grapevine. Grantee may operate a
maximum of five (5) taxicabs on the streets, alleys, and public
ways in the City of Grapevine.
Section 3 . This franchise shall be in full force and effect
until five (5) years after the effective date of this ordinance,
unless sooner terminated under provisions of Section 22-2. 8 (b) of
Chapter 22 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grapevine.
This franchise may be renewed upon proper application to the City
in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 22 of the code of
Ordinances of i,he City of Grapevine.
Section 4 . Grantee, by accepting this franchise, agrees to
abide by the provisions of Chapter 22 , as now written and as may
��.� be subsequently amended, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Grapevine governing the operation of taxicabs in the City.
Grantee also agrees that the City of Grapevine may suspend or
revoke the franchise for violations of the provisions of said
Chapter 22 .
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on first reading this the 7th day of August,
1990 .
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on second and final reading this the 18th day
of September, 1990 .

INDEPENDENT CAB COMPANY hereby accepts the taxicab franchise
granted to it by the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas
and hereby agrees to operate said taxicab service in accordance

with the terms and conditions of such franchise.
