HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1999-014 RESOLUTION NO. 99-14 A RESOLU110N OF THE CfTY COUNCIL OF THE CfIY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ACCEPl1NG THE PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN TEXAS TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION MINUTE ORDER 107736 PASSED ON JANUARY 29, 1999 FOR THE WIDENING OF BASS PRO DRIVE BEfWEEN STATE HIGHWAY 26 AND STATE HIGHWAY 121; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DA�TE WHEREAS, the Texas Transportation Commission and the City of Grapevine, Texas are desirous of making improvements to Bass Pro Drive between State Highway 26 and State Highway 121; and WHEREAS, the Texas Transportation Commission has approved the proposal for improvements as stated in Minute Order 107736 provided that City of Grapevine officials agree to the proposal on or before April 28, 1999. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble of this resolution are true �. and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas consists of Mayor William D. Tate, Mayor Pro Tem Ted R. Ware, Council Member C. Shane Wilbanks, Council Member Sharron Spencer, Council Member Roy Stewart, Council Member Clydene Johnson, and Council Member Darlene Freed. Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas, accepts the provisions contained in Texas Transportation Commission Minute Order 107736, (attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A"), which was passed by the Texas Transportation Commission on January 29, 1999 for the improvements of Bass Pro Drive from State Highway 26 to State Highway 121. Section 4. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its passage. The city appeared before the Texas Transpartation Corizmission(the"commissian")in June 1998,requesting funding for the widening of the Bass Pro Drive Bridge over State Highway 121,which was ultimately denied. Subsequent to the denial,the city has agreed to increase their cantribution taward the bridge widening project which in turn reduces the Texas Departrnent of Transportation's(the "department") participatian. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED by the Co�sunission that the executive director tender the following propasal ta the city: Pravided the city will: 1. .Pravide$345,000 far the canstruction plans, specifications and estimates related ta#he bridge structure. � 2. Provide$798,p00 toward the construction of the Bass Pro Drive Bridge over State Highway I21. 3. Pravide$1,956,000 for the widening of Bass Pro Drive from State Highway 26 to the proposed bridge. 'The department will. Provide$I,319,000 toward the constructivn of Bass Pra Drive Bridge over State Highway 121. � .
