L P A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN
THE PURCHASING PROGRAMS OF THE STATE
PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES COMMISSION
FOR CERTAIN ITEMS; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING
AGENT TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS AND
DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the General Services Commission is authorized to provide
purchasing services for local governments pursuant to TITE 8. SUBBTITLE C. Chapter
271, Subchapter D. sections 271.082 and 271.083 of the Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas, is a local
government defined as an entity qualified to participate in the Cooperative Purchasing
Program of the General Services Commission pursuant to section 271.081 of the Local
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of section 113.85(a) of the
General Services Commission administrative rules, the Purchasing Agent, or his
designee, is authorized to execute any and all documentation for the City of Grapevine
�-:_ ,: pertaining to its participation in the General Services Commission Cooperative
Purchasing Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine acknowledges its obligation to pay
participation fees established by the General Services Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas, is of the opinion that participation in
these programs will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers of this City through the
anticipated savings to be realized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and
are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That request be made to the General Services Commission to
approve the City of Grapevine for participation in the General Services Commission
Cooperative Purchasing Program.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
