°' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO MAKE APPLICATION
TO THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT
FOR A COMMUNITY OUTDOOR OUTREACH PROGRAM
GRANT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department seeks to manage and
conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas for the use and enjoyment of
present and future generations; and
WHEREAS, the Community Outdoor Outreach Program Grant Program is the
vehicle by which the state intends to broaden the knowledge of the out-of-doors to the
citizens of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to develop a Junior Naturalist Program
utilizing Lake Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has received statewide awards for developing
its Environmental Educational Programming: and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to create a model conservation
program to share with school children across the state; and
WHEREAS, staff will submit a grant application for $30,000 to assist in the
promoting, staffing, supplying and transporting of interested youth of our community for
this program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and
are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the City
Manager or his designee to make application to the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department for a Community Outdoor Outreach Program Grant.
Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine wishes to make
application for $30,000 to assist in the program development of a Junior Naturalist
Program in the City of Grapevine.

Section 4. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.
