HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1997-035 �...� RESOLUTION NO. 9�-35 �� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE; PROVIDING FOR THE DONATION OF SAID PROPERTY TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS POLICE ACADEMY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine is in possession of items of surplus and/or salvage property; and WHEREAS, the Grapevine Police Department and the University of North Texas Police Academy participate in cooperative training programs for police officers; and WHEREAS, the University of North Texas Police Academy is a function of a state university but receives no state funds for its operation; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has numerous items of equipment remaining from �`� the remodeling of the Police and Courts Building that has no further value to the City of Grapevine; and � WHEREAS, these items would be of use to the University of North Texas Police Academy to provide training courses for police officers from Grapevine. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. The following items are declared surplus and are donated to the University of North Texas Police Academy, an agency of the State of Texas: (a) Two small filing cabinets (b) Two large filing cabinets (c) One blueprint cart �"� (d) One microwave oven (e) One desk hutch (fl Two each, two-chair-and-table reception units � (g) Thirty-six free-standing metal lockers. \ �_ y Section 3. That the Grapevine Chief of Police is authorized to make these items available to the University of North Texas Police Academy for academy use. �.=� Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage.
