RESOLUTION NO. 97-46
�, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF THE UPGRADE
SCHLUMBERGER WATER METER READING SOFTWARE
� AND HARDWARE; DETERMINING THAT THE ITEM IS
AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE; DETERMINING
THAT THE PURCHASE OF THE UPGRADE
SCHLUMBERGER WATER METER READING SOFTWARE
AND HARDWARE IS NECESSARY TO PRESERVE AND
PROTECT THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY'S RESIDENTS; AUTHORIZING PURCHASE FROM
SCHLUMBERGER INDUSTRIES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF
$26,960.00 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Schlumberger Industries, Inc., is the sole provider of Schlumberger
water meter reading software and hardware; and
�, v WHEREAS, the City Staff has been unable to locate anyone except Schlumberger
Industries, Inc., who provides the upgrade water meter reading software and hardware for

use by the City's Water-Utilities Division; and
WHEREAS, the City Staff has determined the need to upgrade the water meter
' reading software and hardware listed in Exhibit "A" to preserve and protect the public
health and safety of the City's residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are
incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the purchase of the upgrade water
meter reading software and hardware listed in Exhibit "A" from Schlumberger Industries,
Inc., for the total amount of $26,960.00.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of the authorized equipment provided in Section 2.

z � Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its �
passage.
