� -� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
MAY 20, 1997 TO RECEIVE INPUT RELATIVE TO THE
PROPOSED RENEWAL AGREEMENT FOR CABLE
TELEVISION FRANCHISE AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine and Paragon Cable entered into a franchise
agreement on February 20, 1981 for cable television service and are currently operating
under a mutual extension agreement between both parties; and
WHEREAS, Paragon Cable has requested renewal of its franchise for cable
television service in accordance with 47 U.S.C. 546, the Telecommunications Act of 1996
and the Time Warner Social Contract with the Federal Communications Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine and Paragon Cable are prepared to finalize the
proposed agreement in accordance with 47 U.S.C. 546, the Telecommunications Act of

and

WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to call a public hearing on May 20, 1997 in
order to receive public input relative to the renewal of the franchise agreement between
the City of Grapevine and Paragon Cable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated above are found to be true and correct and are
incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied herein in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City of Grapevine does hereby set a date of May 20, 1997 for
a public hearing to receive input relative to the proposed renewal of the Paragon Cable
franchise. The public hearing will be conducted on May 20, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. in the
Council Chambers, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas.

�4 � Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its
passage.
