HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1996-042 �*� RESOLUTION NO. 9s-u2 ;�, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ACCEPTING AN OFFER FROM FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (FUMC)TO EXCHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OWNED BY THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE FOR LIKE LAND AND PROPERTY OF APPROXIMATELY EQUAL VALUE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine owns the property in the 300 block of South Scribner Street containing approximately 438.58 feet of frontage on the west side of South Scribner Street, more particularly described as parts of Tracts 101 and 10K, Abstract A-518, A. Foster Survey; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine wishes to exchange subject land in the 300 block of South Scribner Street for like land and property of approximately equal value; and WHEREAS, First United Methodist Church owns the house at 403 W. Franklin and the property on the northwest corner of College Street and Scribner Street, more '"� particularly described as Lot 1 R Block 44R, Original Town of Grapevine, Abstract No. 518, A. Foster Survey; and � WHEREAS, First United Methodist Church in response to the City's solicitation of offers wishes to exchange subject land on the northwest corner of College Street and the house at 403 W. Franklin for the City's property in the 300 Block of South Scribner; and WHEREAS, the First United Methodist Church offer of exchange is submitted pursuant to Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 272; and WHEREAS, the property and land offered for exchange is approximately the same value as the City's property and is located in the same general vicinity as the City's property; and WHEREAS, the property and land offered by First United Methodist Church is clear of liens and encumbrances; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine and First United Methodist Church have agreed to execute warranty deeds with free and clear title, at a closing to be ,,,�,,, scheduled, after City Council accepts the offer of exchange, at a land title company in Grapevine, Texas. � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: �,.:� Section 1 . That ail matters stated in the preamble are true and correct and are / incorporated herein as if written in their entirety. Section 2. The City of Grapevine agrees to accept the First United Methodist Church offer of the house at 403 W. Franklin and the property at the northwest corner of College Street and Scribner Street more particularly described as Lot 1 R Block 44R, Original Town of Grapevine, Abstract No. 518, A. Foster Survey in exchange for the City's property in the 300 block of South Scribner Street containing approximately 438.58 feet of frontage on the west side of South Scribner Street, more particularly described as parts of Tracts 101 and 10K, Abstract A-518, A. Foster Survey. Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its passage.
