HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1996-040 ,,,:,, RESOLUTION NO. gs-4o � A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ENDORSING THE SIGNING OF A DECLARATION OF INTENT TO DEVELOP A SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP WITH PARRAS DE LA FUENTE, COAHUILA, MEXICO; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas whole-heartedly supports tourism and international exchange; and WHEREAS, the pursuit of a Sister City relationship with Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico will benefit the Citizens of Grapevine through cultural, educational, social, and commercial well-being; and WHEREAS, Grapevine can further celebrate its own rich history and uniqueness and its viticultural and commercial success with Parras de la Fuente; and WHEREAS, Grapevine and Parras de la Fuente shall be characterized by peace, �.:�� common consent, and international solidarity. � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1 . That the above preamble is found to be true and correct and is incorporated into the body of this resolution as though set forth in its entirety herein. Section 2. That the Grapevine City Council fully supports the City's entry into a Declaration of Intent for a self initiated Sister City relationship between the City of Grapevine, Texas and Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico. Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so resolved.
