HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1996-001 „,� RESOLUTION NO. 96-01 �,,, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS, CONCURRING IN THE STATE'S DETERMINATION THAT A PORTION OF THE STATE'S RIGHT-OF-WAY IS NO LONGER NEEDED AS A ROAD AND THAT THE RIGHT-OF- WAY BE QUITCLAIMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE REGULATIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the State of Texas acquired and holds in its own name right-of-way on State Highway 121 as described in Exhibit "A”, attached hereto and made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas has determined that said right-of-way is no longer needed for the construction, maintenance and operation of State Highway 121; and WHEREAS, City Staff has studied the public need for said right-of-way and has "�� determined that said right-of-way is no longer needed by the citizens as a road for public transportation purposes, and is not suitable for conservation, park, recreation ``�' and/or similar purposes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1 . That all matters stated in the preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if written in their entirety. Section 2. That the State's right-of-way shown on the attached Exhibit "A" is no longer needed by the citizens as a road and is not suitable for conservation, park, public transportation, recreation or similar purposes. Section 3. That the City of Grapevine concurs in the State's plan to dispose of the right-of-way in accordance with the established laws and regulations of the State of Texas. � Section 4.
