RESOLUTION N0. 94-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE , TEXAS RECOGNIZING THE
ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE GRAPEVINE HIGH SCHOOL
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM WHICH WON THE TEXAS
STATE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP
WHEREAS, the Grapevine High School Girls Cross Country Team, through hard
work, dedication and determination to achieve excellence have brought favorable
statewide recognition to Grapevine High School and to the City of Grapevine by
winning the Texas State Cross Country Championship; and
WHEREAS, this team had previously won the district and regional
championships during 1993 by going undefeated in cross country competition, earning
the Number 1 ranking in the State of Texas and Number 10 in the United States; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Sue Garl, Assistant Coaches Jimmy Thompson and
Linda Lancaster were fortunate to field the championship team of Senior Misty
Dickerson, Junior Dana Frausto, Sophomores Sandie Ramsey, Heidi Fancen, and Jody
�W ` Gowdy; and Freshmen Anji Nolan and Kristina Runk; and
�•x� WHEREAS, these athletes and coaching staff represent sportsmanship and an
overall favorable image and demonstrate the achievements brought about by diligence,
perseverance and hard work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That all statements contained in the preamble to this resolution are
found to be true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas
wish to extend congratulations to the Grapevine High School Girls Cross Country
Team for their outstanding accomplishment for winning the Texas State Cross
Country Championship.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 1�th day of May , 1994.
