HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1994-031 RESOLUTION NO. 94-31 ��,:, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 79-35 ADOPTED ON OCTOBER 16, 1979, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE GRAPEVINE GOLF COURSE ADVISORY BOARD; ALTERING THE MEMBERSHIP OF SAID BOARD BY AMENDING SECTION 3, PARAGRAPHS A AND B; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine established the Grapevine Golf Course Advisory Board on October 16, 1979, by the adoption of Resolution No. 79-35; and WHEREAS, the City Council expanded the membership of said Board on November 4, 1986, by the adoption of Resolution No. 86-43, on September 3, 1991, by the ado�tion of Resolution No. 91-92 and on April 19, 1994 by the adoption of Resolution No. 94-16; and WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council wishes to alter the membership of said board to increase the citizen membership from five members to seven members. �. .. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1 . That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied herein in their entirety. Section 2. That Section 3, Paragraph A of Resolution No. 79-73, approved and adopted by the City Council on October 16, 1979, amended by Resolution No. 86-35 on November 4, 1986, and amended by Resolution No. 91-29 on September 3, 1991 , is hereby amended to read as follows: The Board shall consist of eleven members, composed of the City Manager and the Golf Director, one member of the City Council, seven citizens of the City of Grapevine who are members of the Grapevine Golf Association, the Grapevine Ladies Golf Association or who are active golfers at the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course, and one representative of Metro Hotels, Inc., or is successors. An "active" golfer is one who plays golf a minimum of once a month. The City Council Member shall be �,.,., appointed each year by the Mayor, with the seven citizen members being appointed by the City Council. The Golf Associations may submit recommendations to the City Council for appointment. Metro Hotels, Inc., or its successors, shall submit �,,.u, recommendations for appointment to the Board." � .� Section 3. That Section 3, Paragraph B(2�(a) of Resolution No. 79-35 approved and adopted by the City Council on October 16, 1979, and amended by Resolution No. 86-35 on November 4, 1986 and amended by Resolution No. 91-29 on �u,,�, September 3, 1991 and amended by Resolution No. 94-16 on April 19, 1994, is hereby amended to read as follows: "(2) (a) Each of the seven citizen members shall occupy a Place on the Golf Advisory Board, such Places being numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 and the representative from Metro Hotels, Inc., or its successors, shall occupy a Place on the Golf Course Advisory Board, such Place being numbered 8." Section 4. That Section 3, Paragraph B(2)Id) is hereby amended to read as follows: "(2) (d) Upon approval and adoption of this resolution, Place 6 shall be appointed on June 7, 1994, to serve for a period of two years and Place 7 shall also be appointed on June 7, 1994, to serve for a period of one year. Subsequent appointments to Place 6 and Place 7 shall be for a term of two (2) years. Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage.
