A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING THE
APPEARANCE OF THE GOODYEAR BLIMP DURING
GRAPEFEST 1994; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Goodyear is an outstanding corporation that represents quality
customer service; and
WHEREAS, the Goodyear Blimp has played an integral role in covering major
sporting events and community festivals for many years; and
WHEREAS, thousands of individuals, both young and old, share in the
enjoyment and delight that this airship brings throughout the country; and
WHEREAS, "GrapeFest," which attracts crowds of well over 70,000, is a
community and metroplex festival providing entertainment for the entire family; and
WHEREAS, the volunteers and organizers associated with" GrapeFest" as well
as the citizens and businesses in the community have requested that the Goodyear
Blimp become an important part of this celebration held the second weekend of
September.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That by passage of this resolution, the City of Grapevine expresses
its desire to have the Goodyear Blimp within the City at the 1994 "GrapeFest"
Celebration to be held on September 9, 10 and 11, 1994.
Section 2. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of October , 1993.
