RESOLUTION NO. 93-45 ��,� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF CRIME VICTIM ORGANIZATIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine is concerned about the rising levels of crime in our communities; and WHEREAS, upon full consideration of all matters in connection with the recent passage of Proposition No. 12, which amended the Texas Constitution to deny bail to certain persons charged with certain violent or sexual offenses committed while under the supervision of a criminal justice agency or a political subdivision, the City Council is of the opinion that this Constitutional Amendment is definitely in the best interest of the City of Grapevine and its citizens; and WHEREAS, the City urges Legislators to follow the sentiment of the majority of citizens and numerous anti-crime and crime victim organizations throughout the State by continuing their commitment to pass legislation to reduce crime by stopping the early release of violent criminal offenders. �x,_� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1 . The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas supports the efforts of numerous anti-crime and crime victim organizations to seek passage of legislation to help reduce crime. Section 2.
