A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
�,,, OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS APPROVING, RATIFYING AND
AFFIRMING A CONTRACT WITH WRIGHT CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($15, 915. 00) FOR
THE RELOCATION OF A SANITARY SEWER LINE FROM
BENEATH THE RESIDENCE AT 4307 WINDSWEPT LANE,
FINDING AND CONCLUDING THAT TAKING OF
COMPETITIVE BIDS WAS UNNECESSARY BECAUSE THE
EXPENDITURE IS FOR A PROCUREMENT NECESSARY TO
PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND
SAFETY OF THE CITY'S RESIDENTS; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, a six inch (6") sanitary sewer line has been
discovered to have been constructed beyond the limits of the
dedicated utility easement; and
WHEREAS, the six inch (6") sanitary sewer line has been
discovered to be located beneath the residence at 4307 Windswept
Lane; and
� WHEREAS, the proposal from Wright Construction Company in the
amount of Fifteen Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifteen Dollars
:;�,, ($15,915. 00) is the lowest of two proposals received by the City,
the other proposal being in the amount of Twenty-Three Thousand Six
Hundred Seventy Dollars ($23 , 670. 00) from Tenbusch Contracting,
Inc. , and said other proposal excluding six items of work which
were included in the proposal of Wright Construction Company at a
total cost of Three Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Dollars
($3 , 590. 00) ; and
WHEREAS, immediate relocation of the sanitary sewer line from
beneath the residence is necessary to protect the health and safety
� of the residents of Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concludes and determines that the
contract with Wright Construction Company for the relocation of the
sanitary sewer line from beneath the residence at 4307 Windswept
Lane should be approved and ratified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
�"'�"° Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be
true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this
� resolution as if copied in their entirety.

Section 2 . That the contract between the City of Grapevine
and Wright Construction Company in the amount of Fifteen Thousand
Nine Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($15, 915. 00) for the relocation of the
sanitary sewer line from beneath the residence at 4307 Windswept
Lane is ratified and affirmed.
Section 3 . That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute said contract with Wright Construction Company.
Section 4 . That this resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 15th day of September , 1992 .
