HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1992-011 RESOLUTION NO. 92-11 � A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY �r.�w OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ENDORSING THE SAFE HOMES PROGRAM; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, drug and alcohol use by teenagers is a significant problem in every community; and WHEREAS, unsupervised teenage parties are often used as an opportunity for abuse of alcohol and drugs; and WHEREAS, the Safe Homes program outlines ways for parents to be in charge of and aware of their teenagers' activities both in the home and outside the home; and WHEREAS, Safe Homes is a program which encourages parents to take a stand against the use of drugs and alcohol by minors; and WHEREAS, Safe Homes promotes consistency and continuity of rules and policies governing the behavior of teenagers, thereby providing parents with the support and endorsement of the community; and "� WHEREAS, Safe Homes creates a communication network among concerned parents; � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Council endorses the Safe Homes Program. Section 2 . That the City �ouncil encourages parents to participate in the program. Section 3 . That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of April , 1992 .
