� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ESTABLISHING GATE
ADMISSION FEES DURING CITY FESTIVALS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the residents of the City of Grapevine and
surrounding areas have enjoyed and benefited from Main Street Days
and GrapeFest, two annual festivals conducted on Main Street in the
City of Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, the festivals, conducted by the Grapevine Heritage
Foundation, have grown each year and now attract over 90, 000
attendees annually, greatly benefiting the economy of the City of
Grapevine and encouraging its economic growth and development; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine encourages
and supports the involvement of individual citizens as festival
volunteers, and supports the involvement of local organizations in
a manner which benefits the organizations' charitable activities
through the raising of funds and the festivals; and
'��' WHEREAS, a gate admission fee for all future Main Street Days
and GrapeFest festivals would provide charitable fund raising
�.,, opportunities for participating organizations and provide funding
for the Grapevine Heritage Foundation for ongoing preservation and
educational activities; and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation wishes to encourage
attendance at the City's festivals by providing complimentary
tickets to the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, AMBUCS
and G.R.A.C.E. for use by those individuals deemed deserving as
determined by the four civic organizations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine gives
highest priority to the safety of everyone involved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble of this
resolution are true and correct and are hereby incorporated into
the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety.
'� Section 2 . That an admission fee be collected from all
citizens and guests entering the Main Street Days and GrapeFest
� festivals. The City Council of the City of Grapevine hereby
establishes admission fees for festivals as follows: Adults $2 . 00;
Children Under 12 and Senior Citizens (65 and over) $1.00; and a
� �� cap of $5. 00 per family. That the Grapevine Heritage Foundation be
authorized to provide advance-purchase opportunities to patrons.
� Section 3 . That the Grapevine Heritage Foundation be
authorized to provide 100 complimentary tickets to each of the four
civic organizations - Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club,
AMBUCS and G.R.A.C.E. to be distributed to those individuals deemed
deserving by the four civic organizations, as well as complimentary
tickets available at the gate for those deemed deserving by gate
attendants.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and
after the date of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of Julv , 1992 .
