RESOLUTION NO. g1-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
`"� OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE 1991 CITY OFFICERS AND FIRE FIGHTERS'
AND POLICE OFFICERS ' CIVIL SERVICE ELECTION
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, there came to be considered the returns of an
election held on the 4th day of May, 1991, for the purpose of
electing the hereinafter named officials, and for the purpose of
submitting the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service
proposition to the resident, qualified voters of the City; and
WHEREAS, it appearing from said returns, duly and legally
made, that there were cast at said election 1,971 valid and legal
votes; and
WHEREAS, each of the candidates in said election received the
following votes:

WHEREAS, the proposition issue of the Fire Fighters' and
Police Officers' Civil Service Law in said election received the
following votes:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
j�, OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That said election was duly called; that notice of
� � said election was given in accordance with law; and that said
election was held in accordance with law; and that the following
named persons were duly elected to the offices indicated:

Sharron Spencer . . . . . . . . Council, Place 2
Section 2 . That the said above persons are hereby declared
duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the taking of
the oath and filing bond as provided by the laws of this State and
the ordinances of this City.
Section 3 . That said election for the Fire Fighters' and
Police Officers' Civil Service Law was duly called; that notice of
said election was given in accordance with law; and that said
election was held in accordance with law; and based upon the
results of said election, the City Council finds, determines and
declares the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Law
did not receive a favorable vote to adopt the Fire Fighters' and
Police Officers' Civil Service Law.
�,,, Section 4. That as a result of said election the City of
Grapevine will not implement the Fire Fighters ' and Police
Officers ' Civil Service Law in accordance with Section 143 . 006 of
�r the Texas Local Government Code.
Section 5. That this resolution shall become effective from
and after the date of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the �th day of May , 1991.
