RESOLUTION NO. 91-10
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
"�' OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, FINDING THE NECESSITY TO
AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A 19 FOOT
FIRE/RESCUE BOAT FROM SEA ARK MARINE, INC. ,
IN ORDER TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE PUBLIC
HEALTH, MORALS, SAFETY AND GENERAL WELFARE OF
THE CITIZENS OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City is in dire need of a Fire/Rescue Boat with
a 500 gallon per minute fire pump in order to preserve the City's
Key Rate Fire Loss Rating which is used to establish Fire
Insurance Rates by the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, there is a necessity to purchase a 1991 19 foot Sea
Ark Fire/Rescue Boat from Sea Ark Marine, Inc. in order to
preserve and protect the public health, morals, safety and
general welfare of the citizens of Grapevine, Texas; and
WHEREAS, Sea Ark Marine, Inc. has a demonstrator that meets
the City's specifications and needs, was built for a Marine Show
� and has never been sold or used at a fire or rescue; and
WHEREAS, Sea Ark Marine, Inc. is agreeable to selling the
'�► subject demonstrator to the City for $50, 000. 00 which is
considerably below the cost of a new fire/rescue boat; and
WHEREAS, the City Staff has consulted with other
manufactures of fire/rescue boats and concluded that none of the
companies have a demonstrator on hand that could be delivered
immediately and that meets the City's specification; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concluded that the purchase of a
boat that has been used as a demonstrator is so unique that it
would be of no value to seek competitive bids.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section l. That all of the above premises are hereby found
to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated into the body
of this resolution as if copied in full.
�,,, Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to purchase a 1991, 19 foot Sea Ark Fire/Rescue Boat as
further described in Exhibit "A", from Sea Ark Marine, Inc. for
� the sum of $50, 000. 00. The City is to be furnished all new
warranties from Seller.
