HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1991-029 ''�" RESOLUTION NO. 91-29 � A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 79-35 ADOPTED ON OCTOBER 16, 1979, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE GRAPEVINE GOLF COURSE ADVISORY BOARD; EXPANDING THE MEMBERSHIP OF SAID BOARD BY AMENDING SECTION 3 , PARAGRAPHS A AND B; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine established the Grapevine Golf Course Advisory Board on October 16, 1979 by the adoption of Resolution No. 79-35; and WHEREAS, the City Council expanded the membership of said Board on November 4, 1986 by the adoption of Resolution No. 86-43; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine entered into a sublease agreement with Mayfair Golf, Inc. on August 6, 1991, for sublease of United States Army Corps of Engineers property adjacent to the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course to be utilized and operated as a �,�,�, public golf course by Mayfair Golf, Inc. ; and WHEREAS, Section 8. 1 of the sublease agreement provides that � Mayfair Golf, Inc. shall be entitled to have two (2) representatives sit as members of the Grapevine Golf Course Advisory Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the above and foregoing preamble is true and correct and is incorporated into this resolution as if copied herein in its entirety. Section 2 . That Section 3 , Paragraph A of Resolution No. 79-73 approved and adopted by the City Council on October 16, 1979, and amended by Resolution No. 86-35 adopted by the City Council on November 4, 1986, is hereby amended to read as follows: "The Board shall consist of nine (9) members, composed of the City Manager and the Golf Pro, one (1) member of the City Council, four (4) citizens of the City of Grapevine who are members of the Grapevine Golf Association or who are active golfers at the Grapevine Municipal Golf �,,, Course, and two (2) representatives of Mayfair Golf, Inc. , or its successors. An "active" golfer is one who plays golf a minimum of once a month. The City Council � Member shall be appointed each year by the Mayor, with the four (4) citizen members being appointed by the City Council. The Golf Association may submit recommendations "�� to the City Council for appointment. Mayfair Golf, Inc. , or its successors, shall submit recommendations for appointment to the Board. " � Section 3 . That Section 3, Paragraph B(2) (a) of Resolution No. 79-35 approved and adopted by the City Council on October 16, 1979, and amended by Resolution No. 86-35, adopted by the City Council on November 4, 1986, is hereby amended to read as follows: " (2) (a) Each of the four (4) citizen members shall occupy a Place on the Golf Advisory Board, such Places being numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4, and each of the two (2) representatives from Mayfair Golf, Inc. , or its successors, shall occupy a Place on the Golf Advisory Board, such Places being numbered 5 and 6. " Section 4 . That Section 3 , Paragraph (B) (2) shall be amended by the addition of new subsections (d) and (e) to read as follows: " (2) (d) Upon approval and adoption of this Resolution, Place 5 shall be appointed on October 1, 1991 to serve for a period of one (1) year and six (6) months which term shall expire on May 1, �,,� 1993 . Subsequent appointments to Place 5 shall be for a term of two (2) years. �. (e) Upon approval and adoption of this Resolution, Place 6 shall be appointed on October 1, 1991 to serve for a period of two (2) years and six (6) months which term shall expire on May 1, 1994 . Subsequent appointments to Place 6 shall be or a term of two (2) years. " Section 5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its date of adoption.
