HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 15 - Backlit Street Name SignsMEMOTO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF BACKLIT STREET NAME SIGNS RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of backlit street name signs from Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc. for the Public Works Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Quality of Life Fund 121 for backlit street signs for a total amount not to exceed $25,442. BACKGROUND: This purchase is for eleven backlit street name signs that the City is to supply for the Dallas Road/Cottonbelt Trail project per the contract. This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement with Houston -Galveston Area Council (H -GAC) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc. The Public Works and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
