City Council to consider authorizing the City Staff to initiate the procedure for amendment of Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 82-73 relative to airport zoning. Hancock City Manager Bill Eisen Assistant City Manager John F. Boyle, Jr. City Attorney Karen Spann City Secretary CALL TO ORDER Ma.yor Tate called the meeting to order. INVOCATION The Invocation was given by Council Nlember Marion Brekken. CANVASS RESULTS OF AUGUST 20, 1983 MUNICIPAL BOND EL�C'I'ION !"°"`�" The first item to be considered by the City Council was an ordinance can- vassing the returns and declaring the results of the August 20, 1983 City of � Grapevine Municipal Bond Election. The caption of the proposed ordinance was read by the City Secretary, who then reviewed the disposition of each of the five propositions on the ballot. It was noted the following propositions had passed as a result of said election: Proposition No. 1 - Street Improvement Bonds; Proposition No. 2 - Municipal Library Bonds; Proposition No. 3 - Nh.inicipal Service Center Bonds; and Proposition No. 5 - Fire Station and Training Facilities Bonds. Proposition No. 4, Park and Recreational Facilities Bonds, failed by a narrow margin. Follawing brief co�nts frcan the Mayor and Council, Council Member Charles Dunn made a motion that the ordinance be adopted. A second was offered by Mayor Pro Tem Ted Ware, and the motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Tate, Ware, Oliver, Dunn, Brekken, Dyer, & Glynn Nays: None ORDINANC� N0. 83-51 AN ORDINANCE BY Tf3E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, CAN�TASSING R�'�[JRNS AND DECLARING Tf� RESULTS OF A � BOND II�C,'TION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 20TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1983 i�,,,,,�, INITIATE CREATION OF AIRPORT ZONING CATEGORY The next order of business was for the City Council to consider authorizing the City Staff to initiate the procedure for �ndment of Co�rehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 82-73 relative to airport zoning. City Attorney John Boyle advised that the current com�rehensive ordinance does not include a zoning classification which allaws airport use, and that the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport is presently zoned "R-1" Single-Family Dwelling District. He added the Staff rec�nded an appropriate zoning 08/22/83 II ca o be considered to avoid c lications durin the ro sed �J rY � g P Po implementation of the Master Plan. At this time, Council authorization was needed for Staff to initiate the procedure and prepare a draft for future Council consideration. There being little discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Ware to authorize tYie Staff to initiate the procedure and draft an am�xichnent to Ccxnprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 82-73 relative to an airport zoning category. The nx�tion was seconded by Council Member Glynn and prevailed by the following vote: ,ww� Ayes: Tate, Ware, Oliver, Dunn, Brekken, Dyer, & Glynn Nays: None �� ADJOURI�NT There being no further business to come before the Council, a motion to adjourn was made by Council Me.mber Larry Oliver.
