AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,
AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE GRAPEVINE CODE OF -
` ORDINANCES RELATING TO MUNICIPAL COURT BY
PROVIDING A NEW SECTION 8-7 REGARDING ARREST
FEES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

Section 1 . That Chapter 8 of the Grapevine Code of
��+ Ordinances is hereby amended by the addition of a new Section 8-7
entitled "Arrest Fees" which shall read as follows:
"Section 8-7 . Arrest fees.
A defendant convicted of a misdemeanor shall pay the
following fee for services performed by a peace officer
a Three Dollar ($3 . 00) fee for executing an arrest
warrant or capias for a Class C misdemeanor or for
making an arrest without a warrant for a Class C
misdemeanor. For the purposes of this ordinance, the
term "arrest" includes the issuance by a peace officer
of a written notice to appear in court, following the
defendants alleged violation of a traffic law or
municipal ordinance, including a parking violation. "
Section 2 . If any section, article, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereto
any person or circumstances is held invalid or unconstitutional
by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance
fi�, ..� and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such
remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity,
which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
v Section 3 . The fact that the present ordinances and
regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to
properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace, and general
welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that
this ordinance become effective from and after the date of its
passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
