AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 87 BUDGET
BY AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 86-59 PASSED
ON SEPTEMBER 16 , 1986 AS PROVIDED BY
THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE FILING OF
THE AMENDMENTS TO THE FISCAL YEAR 87

PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas
(the "City") adopted the Fiscal Year 87 Budget upon the passage
of Ordinance No. 86-59 passed on September 16 , 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it is
necessary and in the best interest of the citizens of the City
to make an amendment to the Fiscal Year 87 Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That all of the above premises are found to be
true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this
ordinance as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2 . That the Fiscal Year 87 Budget is hereby amended
by amending Ordinance No. 86-59 to reflect that the General Fund
expenditure authorization is increased by $315, 042 for the

purpose of:
1 . Making a down payment on the purchase of 12 . 15 acres of
property adjacent to the Grapevine Library site.
($254 , 042 . 00)
2. Purchase of property at 919 Pine Street. ($61 ,000. 00)
By approval of the amendment the total General Fund expenditure
authorization is increased from $11 , 933, 975 to $12, 249 , 017.
Available Fund Balance shall be utilized to provide funding for
the $315, 042 expenditure amendment.
Section 3. A true copy of this Ordinance amending the
Fiscal Year 87 Budget shall be filed with the City Secretary and
attached to the budget originally adopted and the City Manager is
hereby directed to file or cause to be filed a true copy of the
amendments in the office of the County Clerks of Tarrant and
Dallas counties.
Section 4 . If any section, article, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereto
any person or circumstances is held invalid or unconstitutional
by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance
and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such
remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity,
which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 5 . The fact that the present ordinances and
regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to
properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace, and general
welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas
creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of the public
business, property, health, safety, and general welfare of the
public which requires that this ordinance become effective from
and after the date of its passage and it is accordingly so
ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 17th day of March, 1987.
