AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING
CHAPTER 18 OF THE GRAPEVINE CODE OF
ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION 18-161
RELATING TO HOLIDAYS BY PROVIDING THAT
, ��� THE DAY FOLLOWING THANKSGIVING AND
CHRISTMAS EVE SHALL BE CONSIDERED
OFFICIAL CITY HOLIDAYS; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
Section 1 . That Section 18-161 of the Grapevine Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended in the following manner:
"Section 18-161 . Holidays.
New Year ' s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day, the day following Thanksgiving, Christmas
Eve, Christmas Day, the employee ' s birthday, and such other
days as designated by the City Council shall be observed as
official holidays for city employees in accordance with the
following rules : "
Section 2 . The fact that the present ordinances and
��" regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to
� properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace, and general
�� welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that
this ordinance become effective from and after the date of its
passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 3rd day of November , 1987.
