That the Grapevine City Code be, and the same is, hereby . amended by amending Appendix E, Article I, Standards of Design, Item 2.3 relative to Horizontal Curve Limitations shall read as follows: "2.3. Horizontal curve limitations: The minim�un radii at the centerline of the street shall be in accordance with the following tabulation: If Minimum radii ; Major thoroughfare, 'I�pe A & B 2,000 feet ! Major thoroughfare, Type C & D 1,125 feet ' Collector street 800 feet Residential street 300 feet Any deviation frcan these minimtBn radii shall be in accordance with "A Policy on Gec�metric Design of Highways and Streets", 1984, by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials." Section 2. That the Grapevine City Code be, and the same is, hereby amended by amendi.ng Appendix E, Article I, Standards of Design, Item 2.11 relative to Street Grades shall read as follows: "2.11. Street grades: Thoroughfare streets may have a maximiun grade of five (5) percent, unless the natural topoqraphy is such as to require steeper grades, in which case a seven and one-half (7�) percent grade may be used for a maximLun continuous distance of twr� hundred (200) feet. Collector streets may have a maximtun grade of seven and one-half (7�) percent. Residential streets may have a maxim�n grade of ten (10) percent, unless otherwise approved by the City where the natural topography is such as to require steeper grades. All streets must have a minimum grade of at least one-half of one (.5) percent. Centerline grade changes with algebraic difference greater than one (1) percent shall be connected with vertical curves in canpliance with the requirements set forth in "A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets," 1984, American Association of State Highway and ' ' Transportation Officials. The design speed shall be in accordance with the tabulation below: �W=::-� Major thoroughfare, 'I�pe A & B 55 miles per hour Major thoroughfare, Type C & D 45 miles per hour Collector streets 40 miles per hour Residential streets 30 miles per hour" Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in a siun not to exceed Ztao Hundred ($200.00) for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed cammitted upon each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circiunstance, is held invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance, and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining of the ordinance despite such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the ���= City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevi.ne, Texas, creates an emergency for the inmiediate preservation of �,;,.;. public business, property, health, safety, and general welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance shall becane effective from and after the date of its passage and it is accordingly so ordained.
