HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1986-064 ORDINANCE NO. 86-64 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 23, SECTION 61 , RELATIVE TO ANGLE PARKING; AUTHORIZING ANGLE PARKING AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS DESCRIBED HEREIN; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO �� EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 . 00) AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE SHALL BE DEEMED COMMITTED UPON EACH DAY DURING ' � OR ON WHICH A VIOLATION OCCURS; PROVID- ING A SEVERABILITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1 . That Chapter 23, Section 61 , Paragraph (a) of the City Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows : " (a) It shall be lawful to park vehicles at an angle not greater than ninety (90) degrees to the line of traffic at such places in the city as the city council shall by ordinance determine, and shall cause the same to be marked or signed; and in all places where side- walks have been set back and provisions made for parking vehicles across or inside of the usual curb lines of any street in the city. In leaving said angle parking space, vehicles shall not be backed in to the traffic lane any further than necessary to get �"'� straightened out and faced in the proper direction for traffic between said space and center of the street. � In enterinq or leaving such angle parking space, it shall be unlawful for a vehicle to enter the left side of the roadway. " Section 2 . That Chapter 23 , Section 61 , Paragraph (b) of the City Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas, is hereby amended by adding the following angle parking designation: West Texas Street, south side, angle parking permitted from the intersection of Barton Street extending 106 feet west. Section 3 . That all ordinances or any parts thereof in conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be and hereby are deemed repealed and of no force or effect provided, however, that the ordinance or ordinances under which the cases currently filed and pending in the Municipal Court of the City of Grapevine, Texas, shall be deemed repealed only when all such cases filed and pending under such ordinance or ordinances have been disposed of by a final conviction or a finding not guilty of nolo con- tendere, or dismissal. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction in the Municipal Court, shall be fined in an amount not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200 . 00) for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during or on which a violation occurs . Section 5 . If any section, paragraph, subsection, clause, phrase, or provisions of this ordinance shall be judged invalid or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any portion thereof other than that portion so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional. � Section 6 .
