Russell Pulley, Golf Board Director of Golf STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Golf Course Advisory Board of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular session on this 15th day of October 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at the Grapevine Golf Course, 3800 Fairw the following members present: ay Drive, with Gary Davis Louis Capone Bryan Humphreys Tom Kormondy Robert Blalock Jonathan Wall Ronnie Hatley Tom Cherry Deborah Gore Member (absent) Member Member (absent) Member Member Member Member Member Member Constituting a quorum, with the following members of the City Staff: Russell Palley Paul Slechta Robert Singletary Merlin Tielkemeier Director of Golf City Council Member Head Golf Professional Superintendent CALL TO ORDER Russell Pulley called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments. �- -- �` -_��� '*, u ir. ana a�scnssion Russell Pulle usseIl reported highlights over prior year, all positive. Rounds were up almost 4400 rounds over prior year's quarter. Almost every revenue category was an increase over prior year's qtr. Russell reported that after being closed for 46 days due to COVID19, we had all but met our projected revenue goals for the 2019-2020 budget year. Russell reported that for the qtr_ We were up about $175,000. Over previous year. ITEM 2 — Clubhouse Project up date Russell pulley) Russell gave a construction update with pictures and reported that the project was on schedule for construction completion in late March, early April. Tom Cherry asked about the restaurant piece of the project. Russell and Paul Slechta reported that there were two responses to the RFP for managing the restaurant: Restaurant Ventures and Coury Hospitality. Both Russell and Paul shared what the expectations and experience of the new restaurant should feel like. ITEM 3 —Benches Robert Blalock Merlin and Russell shared pictures of what the temporary benches being built would look like until appropriate funding was available to place benches similar to the ones that were in the City Parks. ITEM 4 _ Water Line Proiect Russell Pulley) Russel reported that the water Zine project should start in the followin weeks ah. The project would intersect the golf course again parallel to hole #3 Bluebonnet Proceeding parallel to holes #3 and #4 Bluebonnet. The line would then move behind #4 green Bluebonnet to behind 45 , green Mockingbird. Tom Cherry ask if barriers were needed on holes S & 6 Mockingbird. Jr.Lea ue. Get Golf Read Robert Sin letaRobert reported that due to COVID19 , Junior league has been suspended until 2021. The JR academy has 8 students, and the Get Golf Ready Programs, as well as individual instruction have continued to be very active. Merlin reported that was an easy one to stay on a consistent verti cutting and top dressing schedule. The winter plan was to include more tree trimming and under brush clearing. Tom Cherry ask about the timing of repairing the practice range tee. Merlin said after the water line had moved passed that area. Tom Kormondy ask about the single cart rider regulation, and how it was influencing the operation. Robert responded that we have gone to a 3 cart per group max and this has helped encourage golfers to double up on carts ( 2 per cart) but still leaving consideration to those golfers that had reason to ride single. CONCIDERATION of' Consideration to approve the minutes from the July 16, 2020 meeting were approved with a motion by Torn Kormondy with a second from Bob Blalock.
