AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, SECTION
97 OF THE CITY CODE OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,
ESTABLISHING GARBAGE RATES; PROVIDING AN
' EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY;

�� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1. That Chapter 25, Section 97 of the City Code of
Ordinances, City of Grapevine, Texas, is hereby amended as
follows :
(a) Any houses, buildings, or premises used for residential
purposes, that are connected to the City' s water system and pay a
minimum monthly charge for water service, shall have their
garbage, trash, and refuse removed at a monthly charge, where
such collection and removal is not required in excess of twice
each week, as follows :

(b) The collecting and removing of garbage, refuse, and
trash from houses, buildings, and premises used for commercial
and business purposes (apartment complexes with three or more
units are defined as commercial units) shall be determined by the
number of times each week that collection and removal of garbage,
refuse, and trash is required, plus the amount of garbage,
refuse, and trash collected and removed. The following rates are
established:

c. Temporary Use, 1 or 2 loads, less than 30 days :
Delivery Fee = $50
Each Load = $150
Ten (10) day maximum use of container for one-load
charge. Automatic pick-up is scheduled on the llth
day. Use for more than 10 days requires additional
payment of $150 for additional 10-day usage.
Initial payment must be made in advance before con-
tainer is delivered. Container will not be
returned to customer after first load unless pay-
ment for second load is made in advance.
Section 2 . That the effective date of the rates contained
in this ordinance shall be December l, 1985 .
Section 3 . Should any part, section, paragraph, sentence,
clause, or phrase contained in this ordinance be held to be
unconstitutional, such holding shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portion of the ordinance, but in all respect shall
remain in full force and effect.
Section 4 . The fact that the present ordinances of the City
of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to properly safeguard the
health, safety, morals, peace, and general welfare of the
�-- inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas, creates an emergency
for the immediate preservation of public business, property,
health, safety, and general welfare of the public, which requires
that this ordinance shall become effective from and after the
� date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of November, 1985.
