SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
MEDICAL PHYSICALS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for a professional services contract with
Huguley Assessment Center for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund, Professional Services for an
amount not to exceed $50,000.
BACKGROUND: The Huguley medical physical provides each sworn member of the fire
department with a comprehensive annual physical that complies with the
intent of National Fire Protection Association 1582: Standard on
Comprehensive Occupational Medical Program for Fire Departments.
Additionally, Huguley provides the department with a "fit for duty" letter on
each member.
Staff recommends approval.
