ORDINANCE NO. 83-45
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE APPOINTING A
SPECIAL CANVASSING BOARD TO COUNT ABSENTEE BALLOTS
FOR THE AUGUST 20, 1983 BOND ELECTION PURSUANT TO
THE TEXAS ELECTION CODE, ARTICLE 5.05; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY
- BE IT ORDAIN�D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE:
Section 1. That pursuant to and in accordance with the Texas Election
Code, Artiele 5.05, a Special Canvassing Board is hereby appointed for the
purpose of canvassing the absentee ballots cast at said eleetion. Jerry Spencer
is hereby appointed as Presiding Judge of said Board. Said Presiding Judge shall
have and exercise the duties provided by law and shall appoint two (2) clerks to
serve as members of said Board.
Section 2. Emergency. The fact that the present ordinances and
regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to properly
safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace and general welfare of the
inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas, creates an emergency for the
immediate preservation of public business, property, health, safety, and general
welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance shall become effective
from and after the date of its passage and it is accordingly so ordained.
