AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 , SEC-
TION 97 OF THE CITY CODE OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS, ESTABLISHING GARBAGE RATES; PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPE-
VINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That Chapter 25 , Section 97 of the Code of
Ordinances , City of Grapevine , Texas , is hereby amended as
follows :
(a) Any houses, buildings , or premises used for resi- �
dential purposes , that are connected to the City' s water
system and pay a minimum monthly charge for water service ,
shall have their garbage , trash, and refuse removed at a
monthly charge, where such collection and removal is not
required in excess of twice each week, as follows :

(b) The collecting and removing of garbage, refuse , and
trash from houses , buildings , and premises used for commercial
and business purposes shall be determined by the number of i
times each week that collection and removal of garbage, refuse,
and trash is required, plus the amount of garbage, refuse, and
trash collected and removed. The following rates are estab- ,

Section 2 . That the rates contained in this Ordinance '
shall become effective on August 15 , 1982 . !

Section 3. Should any part, section, paragraph, sentence, '
clause, or phrase contained in this ordinanc� be held to be ;
uncon.stitutional, such holding shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portion of the ordinance , but in all respect
shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4 . The fact that the present ordinances of the
City of Grapevine , Texas, are inadequate to properly safe-
guard. the health, safety, morals , peace , and aeneral welfare
of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas , creates
an emergency for the immediate p�eservation of public busi-
ness , property, health, safety, and general welfare of the
publi.c , which requires that this ordinance shall become
effec�tive from and �fter the date of its passage, and it is
accordingly so ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPE:VINE, TEXAS on this the 3rd day of August, 1982.
